Nuevamente el Grupo de Armón shipyard, lanzo a pruebas de mar de otro nuevo buque científico, en este caso irá destinado para la República de Irlanda, bautizado con el nombre “RV Tom Crean” Con número de construcción “Armón V129” El nuevo buque de investigación marina se completará próximamente en este mes de mayo del 2022 coincidirá como en alguna otra ocasión con la feria Internacional de la Industria Naval que este año se celebrara en la ciudad de Vigo los días 24/25 y 26 mayo. Este buque científico de última generación llevara el nombre de “RV Tom Crean” en honor al famoso explorador de la Antártida. El buque de investigación marina multipropósito llevará a cabo una amplia gama de actividades de investigación marina, incluido el estudio de pesquerías vitales, los impactos del cambio climático, la cartografía de los fondos marinos y la oceanografía. El nuevo buque de 58,8 metros por 14, 00 metros de manga, que sustituirá al RV Celtic Voyager de 31 metros, ha sido encargado con fondos proporcionados por el Departamento de Agricultura, Alimentación y Marina.
